Nick Sanders (Courtney Palmer)Another long-time Fort McMurrayite has announced his plan to seek the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta nomination for the Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo seat in the legislature.
Nick Sanders made the announcement Jan. 12 at Suncor Community Leisure Centre and spoke briefly on the announcement.
“Our relationship with the current government needs to be improved, the best way is to be part of that government,” said Sanders.
In attendance at the announcement were other PC Party candidates, Mike Allen and Jeff Thompson as well as Fort McMurray-Conklin candidate Don Scott.
“It’s nice to see good solid candidates,” said Sanders.
Some of the reasons he said he wants to become MLA for Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo are better roads, healthy communities, taking care of the area’s resources and enhancing the region’s reputation.
Sanders immigrated to Canada from Holland in the 1960s and moved to Fort McMurray in 2006 to operate Sparksman Transportation Ltd. He is currently a board member of the MacDonald Island Park Corp. and the Chamber of Commerce.
The vote for the PC Party’s Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo and Fort McMurray-Conklin nominee takes place on Jan. 28.
