Charges laid in Thickwood rollover

 

 

UPDATE - RCMP Investigate Collision in Thickwood

Wood Buffalo RCMP have laid charges in relation to the single vehicle roll-over that occurred on Feb. 16, in the Thickwood area of Fort McMurray.

Twenty-year-old Jared MacDonald of Nova Scotia, has been charged with several offences including Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle causing bodily harm and Criminal Negligence causing bodily harm. The accused had been released from custody and is expected to appear in court on March 5, 2012.

 

RCMP investigate collision in Thickwood

Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a report of a single vehicle roll-over near the Thickwood Esso at Real Martin Drive, shortly after 3:15 a.m on Feb. 16.

 

Witnesses reported seeing several occupants in a dark red pick-up truck travelling west bound on Thickwood Boulevard. The vehicle crossed the center median, lost control and rolled over, coming to rest in the Mac’s parking lot. The involved parties did sustain undisclosed injuries as a result of the collision and were transported to the hospital via ambulance. The investigation is still on-going, however alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the collision, and charges are pending.
