Designers continue to be inspired by the refined strength of a modern woman, and once again it showed up on the runways of Fashion Week with leather being a dominant component.

This fall, the tough girl has emerged with a softer uptown vibe. Designers have been slowly moving away from the military look that has been so strong in past seasons. So if this trend is starting to fade out, what is replacing it?
